Recommendation For Volunteers
- We are recommend all the persons who are interested in working as volunteers to check and request the bylaws of the organizations with whom they are going to work, in order to determine the legality of these organizations.
- We recommend asking for the Official Record of the Constitution of the organizations, in which they guarantee their legitimacy. In Ecuador there are some organizations who exist legally constituted, but there are many other organizations which work illegally. This aspect is very important for the safety of the persons who are going to work as volunteers.
- Check if the organization is authorized by the Ecuadorian government to handle the selection of volunteers on third-hand.
- Request a document of audits done by the organizations in which they determine the transparency in their economic managment.
- Always ask the organizations and the projects for an explanation of the distribution of the funds in case the volunteer has to do some disbursement.
